Music to delight all ears performed to a packed church!

Miscellany St Johns 26

Wednesday 13th May, 2026

'Teatime with Miscellany' proved a popular event on Saturday afternoon, 18th April, with a 60-minute programme of the choir's favourite songs and solos for upper voices, followed by refreshments and a retiring collection for Rare Dementia Support. The St John's cake bakers excelled themselves, to the delight of some 90  people from Clevedon and beyond,  who then gave generously to the charity, with the possibility of Gift Aiding their donations, adding 25% to the value of their donation.  RDS, a cause close to the choir's hearts, is the only organisation that offers expert face-to-face, telephone and online advice to people (and their families) diagnosed with some of the most unusual forms of dementia, including Primary Progressive Aphasia which robs the patient of his or her ability to understand and formulate language.

A Just Giving page was set up for the event, to enable people to donate online by credit card, and five days after the concert a remarkable total of £1350  had been raised.

Miscellany is most grateful for the hospitality and help received from the St John's team, making for a very happy event on a lovely sunny day.
